A Small Group is Born!
A few years ago, we sat with Jim and Chris around our dining room table for a casual, "get-to-know-you-better" type of dinner. The kids were all playing well together and we took full advantage of the adult time to talk. From that dinner, a small group was born! I will never forget some of our first meetings. We spent the first few months talking about our personal faith journeys. We shared our fears, our baggage, our joys and our dreams with each other over coffee and pie. We decided to read the book "Blue Like Jazz" together and discuss it. Jim would always come with the best questions and most of the time, we didn't have the answers! I remember when Jim started reading the Bible. He was reading a one-year bible. It was always a joke because He never knew the book he was in, he would just know the date. He got famous for referencing scripture verses by dates instead of books. We laughed so many times about that. That small group has changed faces several times due to family moves and ever-changing schedules, but it is still alive and well and Jim has always been at the heart of it! We love you, Jim!
