I first met Jim in July of 1995 at the Executive Health & Sports Center where I was employed as Marketing & Corporate Relations Director. On my off-time one day I was relaxing in the club's hot tub and watching this incredible swimmer doing butterfly in the lane in front of me. I had never seen anyone swim so fast and with such form! Then he stopped at the end of the lane, flipped up his goggles and asked if he could join me in the tub. I couldn't believe it! We talked about 45 minutes, turning us both into cooked lobsters. He said his name was Jim, and he worked for Chubb Life in Concord, NH.
I spent the entire week searching the club database trying to find out more info on how to contact him! When I thought I figured out which "Jim" he might be, I send him my business card asking if he'd like to go out for dinner sometime. I was amazed to hear him lean into my office the very next night while I was finishing payroll, "So, where would you like to eat?!" This photo was taken in August 2008 at Newfound Lake with Jim, Lauren and Dana. Jim spent so much time in the water with our girls, teaching them "the right way" to swim. I'll never forget how much fun they all had jumping off Grampie's Big Blue Banana Boat into the lake! ~Christine Ehrlich
